ll our properties are located in the beautiful area of Competa, province of Malaga, and part of the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. The nearest Airport is in Malaga, which is approximately 60 km from the village of Competa. Our Holiday Villas are detached properties with private swimming pools, surrounded by land which guaranties privacy to enjoy a relaxed and unforgettable holiday. On the surrounded land / farm of most of our holiday villas are growing organic fruits like oranges, lemons, mandarins, figs, avocados and many more. The area of Competa has one of the best climates in Europe, and the land surrounding the village and down to the coast is filled with vineyards, olive, almond and lemon groves, tropical fruits such as avocado, mango, oranges, lemons. The unspoilt, whitewashed villages in this area, are situated on the route of sun and wine, and still enjoy a traditional way of life with plenty of Moorish history and fantastic local food. The villages included in this route are: Competa, Algarrobo, Sayalonga, Canillas de Albaida, Torrox, Frigiliana and Nerja. The main agricultural product is the grape, and the wines of Competa are some of the finest in the whole province. The village has retained its original Moorish structure with the white fronted houses, surrounded by delightful olive groves and almond blossoms. There is also a nature reserve (Parque Natural) and a 4.000 hectare wide wildlife reserve, which is a perfect example of the beauty of this region.

Competa itself boasts a host of entertainment: there are is a modern and large communal swimming pool, local bodegas, riding stables, several boutiques and more than 30 bars and restaurants where you can taste the famous Vino de Competa (Competa Wine), Sangria and a great variety of tapas. These tranquil villages provide the ideal place for those who are seeking a less stressful lifestyle in one of the best climates in Europe. The Sierras lie to the North and the wide expands of the Mediterranean Sea to the South. The area is immersed in the history of past civilizations. The visitor will find the sights, sounds, colours and scents of its Arabic ancestry integrated into the everyday life of its inhabitants. The winding streets and traditional houses still reflect the influence of the Carthaginians, the Romans and the Moors. Places to visit during your holiday: First, we would like to mention the local summer fiesta, takes place at the end of July with lots of party, Easter processions with lots of ceremony and not to forget the unique Wine Festival (Noche del Vino) in Competa, which takes place every year in August. This festival starts in the morning where wine and food is handed out to everybody, later afternoon in the square, wine is dished out of a huge barrel and the flamenco dancer’s show begins. More activities in the area: horse riding and walking tours in the Mountains (National Park), local pottery courses, relaxing massages and reflexology, playing tennis, weekend market, excellent 18 golf courses, Baviera Golf (25 mins) and Anoreta Golf (35 mins), the Caves in Nerja, the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary, Alhambra Palace in Granada, the water adventure in Velez-Malaga, the Picasso Museum in Malaga. If you wish to enjoy the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea (Costa del Sol), they are only 16 km away.
